Dear Family In Christ

Dear Family in Christ,

It is with great joy that I announce the good news that Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Wiggins will become a mission parish of St. Helena’s beginning on July 1, 2016!  As parish boundaries are being reorganized throughout the Archdiocese of Denver to better meet the needs of parishioners and priests alike, let us pray in thanksgiving to our Lord for the goodness He is bestowing upon our parish communities.  As always, please continue to pray for increases in vocations to priesthood, diaconate and religious life. This reorganization of parish boundaries will mean some changes for the Tri-parishes beginning July 1, 2016:

1)      Mass times will remain the same for St. Helena (see web site/bulletin), albeit, confessions  on Saturday afternoon will now be from 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at St. Helena.

2)      Mass at St. Francis of Assisi will be at 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Confessions will be celebrated before Mass. There will no longer be a 7:00 a.m. Mass on Sundays in Weldona.

3)      Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes will be at 9:00 a.m. on Sundays.  Confessions will be celebrated before Mass.

Regarding the celebration of sacraments, religious education, and other parish activities, the following changes will take effect on July 1, 2016.  The following will be celebrated at the respective parishes:

St. Helena Catholic Church:  Baptisms, Confessions, Marriages, Funerals, Quinceañeras (May-August), Confirmation and First Holy Communion (same Mass).

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church: Baptisms, Confessions, Marriages, Funerals.

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church: Baptisms, Confessions, Marriages, Funerals.  There will no Quinceañeras celebrated at OLOL.

All Baptism, Marriage, and Annulment preparation and meetings will be held at St. Helena at the Parish Office.

All Religious Education for the Tri-parishes will be held on Wednesdays of each week during the liturgical year at St. Helena.  Grades 1-3 from 4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for grades 4 and up at the Hurley Educational Building.

Youth Group for the Tri-parishes will be held on Wednesdays of each week during the liturgical year at St. Helena from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in Monsignor Dinan Hall.

Finance Council and Pastoral Council meetings will be held at St. Helena the first Tuesdays of each month from 5:00 p.m – 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. respectively, in the parish office.

Totus Tuus and NET retreat in preparation for the sacrament of confirmation will be held at St. Helena.

Twenty-Four Hour Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will remain at St. Helena on Thursday/Friday.  There will be no exposition and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at the mission parishes.

Masses for Holy Days of Obligation will be announced as their respective dates approach throughout the liturgical year.  There will be no Masses celebrated at both mission parishes when either priest is on vacation.

Bi-annual Northeastern Plains Penance Services will be held at St. Helena.

Thank you for your prayers and support.

Sincerely,

In Christ,
